Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Cost Estimating Analyst to support program activities related to cost estimating, budget analysis, and contract performance analysis for Marshall Space Flight Center. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

Work as an analyst on large or technically complex projects. Develop approaches for solving issues or problems. Perform cost benefit and risk analysis studies. Provide estimates of the effect of project and program change requests and major additions. Analyze and interpret raw engineering and cost data for estimates. Operate and analyze parametric cost estimating models. Operate statistical and quantitative risk assessment models as needed. Utilize concepts and tools relating to computer science applications in cost analysis such as: uni- and multi-variate statistical and regression analysis, learning curve analysis, computer graphics, cost accounting, direct and indirect costs, development of escalation indices, and development of cost estimating relationships. Principal duties may include, but are not limited to, preparing WBSs, charts, tables, graphs, and diagrams to assist in analyzing problems.

Qualifications

0-5 years experience in business, finance or economics, operation research, system engineering, and cost estimating. Bachelor's degree in a related field. Experience in cost analysis for engineering tasks. Experience developing and reporting the financial status of programs. Experience conducting analyses that involve complex technical parameters, acquisition and logistics requirements, schedule constraints, procurement and business principles and similar cost-influencing factors. Experience developing life cycle cost estimates utilizing various methodologies. Able to work in a team environment, demonstrate superior customer service skills, and be goal oriented. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Able to work independently and as a team member under tight deadlines with changing priorities and management directives. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Working knowledge of Microsoft Access and Project. Must be a US Citizen.
