Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Deputy Infrastructure Team Manager to oversee a technical team supporting an enterprise level network at Sandia National Laboratories. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

Serve as a technical lead for the infrastructure team providing remote and desk-side technical support, mobile support, distributed server platform, software services, and administration services. Review new and emerging technologies and assess the impact of integrating them into the existing environment. Manage and track ongoing tasks and recommend corrective action as needed. Act as a technical resource to provide guidance to the technical team as well as to make recommendations to program and government management. Ensure projects follow organizational processes and procedures and stay on schedule. Provide status reports to Infrastructure Team Manager and the Program Manager.

Qualifications

7+ years experience in systems and infrastructure including experience in a lead or manager role. Bachelor's degree in a related field. Must have broad IT technical knowledge. Experience providing direct oversight of contractor staff. Experience training contractor staff using a consistent training methodology. Experience maintaining a consistent, repeatable process for on-boarding and off-boarding contractor staff. Experience applying for and maintaining contractor clearances. Experience providing accurate invoices for contractor payment in a timely manner. Experience producing and monitoring various support and performance reports. Able to coordinate and communicate with designated personnel or other Third Parties, concerning scheduling (including priority) and requirements so as to minimize the business impact to Authorized Users. Working knowledge of service management processes and tools. Basic knowledge of appropriate handling and storing of IT equipment and material (including handling of ESD equipment). Experience mentoring and training contractor support staff. Must have experience in account management. Experience producing technical and process documentation. Experience leading projects via project management working skills. Able to demonstrate leadership abilities, with strong interpersonal skills and customer service focus. Able to communicate effectively both verbally and non-verbally, with technical and non-technical individuals. Must be detail-oriented, take initiative, and demonstrate an ability to learn and understand new tools and technologies. Must be a U.S. citizen and hold a current Q or Top Secret clearance.
