Program Requirements:
Work requirements
8000 hours documented work in the maintenance group
Must have minimum hours of work in specific areas as documented by weekly time cards.
Acceptable performance evaluation of work-regular reviews
Candidate will provide basic personal tools required at Federal Mogul work area.
Classroom training requirements
Completion of all required classroom instruction
Hours can be transferred as determined on individual basis
Placement in program will be decided by a combination of existing documented experience and classroom work. Once placed in the program at a specific level, an equivalent amount of experience and classroom instruction will be required to move to the next pay level.
FM will pay for class cost in advance of classes-successful passing grades are required to be submitted by apprentice to continue apprenticeship
Books and limited tools will be paid or supplied by FM
Hours at school will not be paid by FM, and travel/mileage costs to and from classes are the responsibility of the apprentice.
During the WSCC on-line classes, students will be required to meet monthly with instructors to validate progress and/or check competencies.

Compensation
First 90 days-probationary period, determines acceptance into apprenticeship based upon preliminary evaluation. 74% full maintenance wage.
Year 1 completion. 2000 hours work verified, and 25% of classroom instruction complete. 82% full maintenance wage.
Year 2 completion. 4000 hours work verified, and 50% of classroom instruction complete. 89% full maintenance wage.
Year 3 completion. 6000 hours work verified, and 75% of classroom instruction complete. 93% full maintenance wage.
Year 4 completion. 8000 hours work verified, and 100% of classroom instruction complete. Full maintenance wage rate.

Other Requirements
Candidates must agree to a 3 year commitment to work in the maintenance area at FM after completion of the apprentice program or pay back the classroom tuition costs paid by FM.
Shifts will be rotated at regular intervals to expose apprentices' to all shifts-rotation schedule TBD
Department of Labor apprentice certification is being evaluated and may be included as part of this program.
If accepted into the program, must sign a reimbursement agreement prior to receipt of any educational assistance benefits.

Required Skills

Must be a current Tenneco Athens Employee

Must be able to work any shift (1st, 2nd or 3rd)

Must be able to attend classes at any time the classes are available.
