The Gardener Denver Nash division of Ingersoll Rand has an exciting opportunity for a Machinist at our Moody, AL facility. The Machinist should possess a background in Machine Operation along with the ability to work overtime as needed. This position is eligible for our $3,000 sign on bonus!

The Gardener Denver Nash division of Ingersoll Rand has an exciting opportunity for a Machinist at our Moody, AL facility. The Machinist should possess a background in Machine Operation along with the ability to work overtime as needed. This position is eligible for our $3,000 sign on bonus!
ESSENTIAL FUNCATONS:
- Performs set ups of large Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump components and operations of large Vertical & Horizontal Lathes used to repair and overhaul Large Liquid Rind Vacuum Pumps & Compressors;
- Interprets blueprints/drawings to determine critical dimensions, etc;
- Able to read Micrometers, Vernier Calipers, Dial Indicators & other precision measuring & test equipment as required;
- Able to maintain low tolerances as indicted by specifications or drawings as low as .0005” at times;
- Understands how to select appropriate cutting tools for various metals;
- Understands how to determine speeds and feeds to obtain proper surface finish;
- Able to work overtime; typically throughout the week and occasionally on weekends;
- Safe operation of Forklift within a Machine Shop environment;
- Lifting and Rigging of heavy components of various configurations & weights;
- Safe Over Head Crane operation;
- Adheres to all company EH&S & QMS processes;
- Other responsibilities as assigned;
Experience Required:
- Previous experience setting up and operating large Manual Vertical & Horizontal Lathe;
- Strong Mechanical Aptitude;
- Ability to read and interpret standard and metric dimensions from blueprints;
- Ability to perform basic preventative maintenance on operations of Vertical & Horizontal Lathes.
Education Required:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required
- Technical/vocational degree in Machining highly desired.
