Primary Responsibilities

HDR is looking for a Project Engineer to join our Water Business Group in either our Pensacola, FL or Mobile, AL office. This individual will serve as an engineer, team member and possibly task lead for various municipal drinking and wastewater projects in the Panhandle area. In this role, we'll count on you to:

  • Provide project engineering and task management; conduct transmission and/or collection systems modeling and design; collect, assimilate and present data in reports, memos and public forums; lead production of design calculations and technical reports; and lead preparation of engineering plans and specifications for design of water or wastewater facilities and related infrastructure

  • Work independently in addition to planning, organizing and assisting groups of medium to large teams of professionals and technicians dependent on project/task

  • Conduct planning, plan formulation and concept development, and develop planning documentation

  • Assist in project permitting efforts with various regulatory and municipal entities

  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or related Engineering discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with municipal or industrial water/wastewater systems process and design or equivalent advanced education
  • Florida PE license
  • Strong technical background and experience in water or wastewater treatment, water quality, water system distribution and/or wastewater collection systems, pipeline and pump station design
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS degree in civil, environmental, mechanical or related engineering field
  • Preference will be given to local candidates, however non-local candidates with outstanding resumes will be considered
