a.i. solutions is seeking a self-starter and energetic software quality assurance engineer who will support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Quality, Safety and Mission Assurance (QS) Directorate providing Quality and Mission Assurance support by participating in multi-disciplinary teams conducting Software Quality Assurance (SQA) and mission assurance evaluations, audit reviews, and assessments. The individual will provide software quality technical expertise to Quality and Mission Assurance Management in performing oversight of all lifecycle phases including requirements, design, development, testing and programmatic efforts. The successful candidate will act as an integral part of the team to ensure the goal of delivering quality products and services meet and exceed customer expectations.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering, quality, and mission assurance support within the Missile Defense System (MDS); specifically, within the QSI - Mission Assurance Office
  • Experience with Software Quality Assurance (SQA) to review and assess software products and processes to assure they are suitable quality for their intended purposes.
  • Support the implementation of MDA quality and mission assurance requirements by providing software quality support to MDA's software system acquisition process.
  • Provide oversight and technical evaluations of development designs, requirements, planning, maintenance and sustainment, identification and development processes, testing, and maintenance for mission critical missile defense software, particularly sensors.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for the identification, evaluation, and mitigation of risks and other programmatic concerns associated with various aspects of the design, development, manufacturing, fielding and operation of MDA systems.
  • Support design and failure review boards/investigations, milestone reviews, qualification testing, verification, and validation of software, and aiding in the implementation of software quality processes.
  • Travel approximately once per quarter.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Professional engineering from a school of engineering Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology, Inc. in software engineering with a minimum of 7 years of experience.
    • Acceptable substitute to above requirement: 10 years of experience in a software field.
  • Experience leading and executing extensive software quality engineering support efforts for complex weapon systems, system elements, interfacing systems, components, devices and/or processes for missile defense programs.
  • Experience with software quality processes and products from requirements phase through testing and fielding, as well as leading the implementation of software quality engineering.
  • Security Clearance requirements: Secret (prior to start)
