We are seeking a Supervisor, Manufacturing Operations to join the team at our AMF site in Huntsville, AL.
Reporting directly to the Manager, Manufacturing Operations, this position develops strategies and manages the execution of production activities. This position would be for 3rd shift. 10:00 pm to 7:30 am 9/80 schedule.

Aerojet Rocketdyne, an L3Harris Technologies Company, is growing in The Rocket City, Huntsville, AL! We've begun hiring for our third facility in the Huntsville area, a 379,000 sq.ft. manufacturing facility near the Huntsville airport that will specialize in the production and assembly of inert solid rocket motor components. We are also continuing to grow at our Huntsville center of excellence for Missile Solutions Program Management and Engineering, as well as our Advanced Manufacturing Facility in north Huntsville, where we produce advanced propulsion products.

The successful individual will be responsible for manufacturing of high technology products that conform to contractual and Aerojet Rocketdyne requirements for performance, reliability and any special characteristics. Assures that activities within defined scope are accomplished in accordance with Aerojet Rocketdyne policies, sound business practices and are in compliance with applicable regulations and requirements. Typically accomplishes results through hourly, non-exempt, or exempt employees. Monitors work operations on a daily basis and actively assists or provides direction to subordinates.
After the supervisor completes onboarding and training at our Advanced Manufacturing Facility, the supervisor will be heavily involved in setting up operations at the new facility including, but not limited to: organizing the factory into a world class manufacturing center, interviewing and hiring technicians, helping to make both tactical and strategic decisions related to starting and sustaining operations. It is expected to take about one year to setup the factory. Once established, regular job functions will be approximately:
40% - Provide direction to subordinates guided by established policies and precedents; holding safety as the highest priority. Interpret and execute policies that typically affect individual employees of organization.
30% - Provide technical and administrative supervision to multiple programs within the operations group in the manufacturing area. Influence and coordinate across departments to align support for production activities.
20% - Create and execute strategic plans to optimize schedule, personnel, material and equipment to ensure that production goals are met. This is accomplished by using lean manufacturing tools to orchestrate the production line activities. Ensure facilities are clean and maintained to support operations.
10% - Establish and maintain a variety of KPIs and reports to monitor internal operating controls. Clearly communicate targets and action plans to the team and drive to success. Respond to issues that arise on the shop floor.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree and at least five (5) years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
The work environment may require a combination of indoor and outdoor activity (hot, cold, wet, humid conditions) with a varied amount of walking, standing, sitting, climbing (i.e. ladders, stair, scaffolding, ramps), balance (maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces), bending, reaching, handling/fingering (seizing, holding, grasping, turning picking, pinching), stooping, kneeling, crouching and ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, employees may work around variable noise levels. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. May also be required to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer. Ability to distinguish colors may also be necessary. Some employees may be required to drive between various locations within the Company facility or between locations. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
