Job Description
Screen Preparation- Vulcan Signs
Do you have a keen eye for meticulous detail? We're seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to ensure our Vulcan Signs screen printing process operates seamlessly. As a member of the screen prep team, you'll be responsible for bringing designs to life by preparing and completing screens used for customer orders.

Duties:
1. Transform screens into blank canvases by setting up and preparing silk screens for our press printing equipment, enabling us to produce captivating single or multicolor designs.
2. Craft aluminum screen frames with precision using hand tools and specialized equipment, ensuring they are ready to embrace the silk screen fabrics.
3. Skillfully clamp aluminum screen frames and silk screen fabrics into pneumatic stretchers, breathing life into them as they are stretched taut. Apply glue to fabric and frame as well as trimming any excess.
4. Utilize a tray to coat screen fabric with photosensitive emulsion. Carefully stack these coated screens to dry.
5. Tape appropriate artwork negatives onto the coated and dry screen. Then, place the screen into the Polycop machine, where it undergoes a transformation under high-intensity light, revealing the image within.
6. Guide the screen through the washout sink, using a water hose to cleanse away unexposed emulsion. Finish it with a wet/dry vacuum to remove excess water, ensuring the screen is primed and ready.
7. Assess the finished screens under the glow of the light table, where you'll perform a final check for accuracy. If necessary, touch ups will be made.
8. Perform other functions and duties as requested.

Qualifications:
Ability to count accurately, perform simple arithmetic, read a tape measure and comprehend a simple layout or sketch for size and hole placement.
Ability to read and comprehend applicable screening prints, design specifications and part attributes.
Ability to utilize heavy automatic or manual screen preparation equipment based on established protocols.

Hours of Operation: ONSITE Foley, AL; Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm with an occasional start time of 6:00am.
