HDR is looking for a Water/Wastewater Project Manager to join our Florida Panhandle/Coastal Alabama Water Business Group team. This individual will serve as a project manager, technical lead and/or client manager on municipal drinking water and wastewater projects.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide planning and design services for water/wastewater utilities
  • Implement engineering and project coordination, writing of technical specifications, preparation of contract drawings, prepare reports and supporting documentation
  • Work directly with clients on project delivery and to position HDR for future opportunities
  • Drive profitability of projects and satisfaction of clients through quality work and on-time / on-budget delivery
  • Implement QA/QC procedures and live HDR's culture of quality
  • Provide technical leadership during project delivery
  • Support, and in some cases lead, marketing efforts through client engagement, responsiveness, and strong delivery of projects
  • Mentor and manage junior staff

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in in Civil, Environmental, or related engineering discipline
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience with municipal water/wastewater systems process and design
  • Minimum of 2 years of project management experience
  • PE License required
  • Strong technical background and experience in water or wastewater treatment, water quality, water system distribution and/or wastewater collection systems
  • Proven leadership and mentoring skills
  • Active engagement in professional and industry organizations
  • Experience working directly with clients on project delivery
  • Demonstrated project leadership and project management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to initiate and develop long term client relationships
  • Excellent team player with ability to function effectively in a variety of roles on integrated project teams
  • An attitude and commitment to be an active participant of our employee-owned culture

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in civil, environmental, mechanical, or related engineering field
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience
  • Florida/Alabama PE license or ability to obtain one within six months of hire through reciprocity
