CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join our Commercial & Institutional - Fire Protection Services Team at our office in Birmingham, AL or remotely from home.

YOUR IMPACT

CHA Fire Protection Services offers highly specialized fire protection engineering services and cutting-edge solutions to the most challenging fire protection projects. Our knowledgeable staff manages complex industrial, commercial and design/build fire protection projects, including sprinkler systems, fire pumps, ground storage tanks, underground piping, and special hazards.

The Senior Fire Protection Engineer, a key role at CHA, leads the technical execution of fire sprinkler and fire alarm projects from design development to completion. This role will plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of projects independently while also engaging with project managers and other subject matter experts. The Senior Fire Protection Engineer will also be responsible for resolving highly complex technical issues and will continuously monitor the progress and performance on a project to ensure efficient production and resolution of any problems that may arise. Additional duties may include providing technical development of proposals and external presentations (i.e., clients, public, regulatory agency, etc.).

REQUIREMENTS
    Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
  • Professional Fire Protection Engineer License (FPE) required
  • Minimum of 15 years progressive engineering experience required
  • Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, etc.) preferred
  • Understands QA/QC procedures and understands basic business practices and laws related to engineering
  • Proficiency with MS Office software required
  • Active role in a professional engineering society/organization preferred
