Job Description
Come support the Missile Defense Agency at Redstone Arsenal as we develop, test, and field an integrated Missile Defense System! Provide high-quality, professional services for Agency-wide Safety as directed by the MDA Quality, Safety & Mission Assurance. MDA established the QS organization to perform a continuous assessment of the engineering, technology, processes, production, and programmatic practices used to develop and operate the Missile Defense System such that high risk attributes can be identified and addressed to increase confidence in achieving mission success while ensuring personnel safety.

This position will provide technical and program management support for the QS directorate at the Program and Project Safety Programs. The position will support development, implementation and execution of safety and occupational health (SOH) policies and procedures for programs across the Agency.


Required Experience:

Two years of relevant experience in job hazard, risk assessment and other analytical techniques sufficient to identify and evaluate program areas involving high risk, new or revised operations, hazardous materials, and other adverse conditions.

Experience in accident and mishap investigation and reporting requirements and techniques.

Experience in construction standards, practices, techniques, materials, equipment, and utility systems sufficient to determine compliance with building safety standards, and ability to develop effective controls of work and equipment hazards resulting from new construction or modification of current facilities.

Experience in the basic concepts, methods, and techniques used by environmentalist, industrial hygienists, safety engineers, fire prevention specialists, and personnel in other safety and occupational health specialty areas.

Experience in the standards, methods, practices, and techniques applicable to industrial processes and operations.

Experience applying environmental principles, practices, procedures and laws pertinent to hazardous chemicals and toxic waste.

Skill in oral and written communications to prepare, present, explain and defend technical reports, briefings or technical material.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Current DOD Security Clearance.
