Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Sr. Application Systems Analyst/Programmer to provide full life cycle software support for the Air Force Civil Engineering Center (AFCEC) at Lackland AFB. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities
    Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems in order to automate processing or to improve existing computer systems.
  • Analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements including forms of data input, how data is to be summarized, and formats for reports.
  • Write detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs as required.
  • Oversee programming support through the entire development process while planning, processing, performing, tracking, and briefing progress status to the Government.
  • Design and develop programming systems, make specific determinations about system performance, make recommendations which would yield a more cost-effective product, and review and repair legacy code.
  • Work with the software development team to analyze, design, coordinate, and supervise the development of software systems to form a basis for the solution of information processing problems.
  • Work with the software development team to analyze system specifications and translate requirements into task specifications for junior programmers and shall serve as software test engineer.
  • Work with the IA team to ensure the database(s) are STIG compliant and work with the project manager, lead developer and ISSM to identify and remediate any findings discovered through the STIG review.
Qualifications

8+ years experience in an applications and system analyst role. Bachelor's degree in a related field. Must be Security+ certified. Must have a thorough understanding of object-oriented programming. Experience in researching, analyzing, and designing system applications to meet the needs of an organization and integration with existing and future systems. Must be a US Citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
