Job Summary

Ready to take the helm as our Security Operations Center (SOC) Manager? This role is aligned with our corporate entity, will be part of a growing team and offers the opportunity to shape our security landscape, with significant ownership and influence.

In this pivotal position the SOC Manager will spearhead the management of security events monitoring and response activities. Bringing technical competence and a proven experience leading diverse teams is required, as you'll drive the development and oversight of our SOC program, ensuring personnel are managed and operational efficiencies are maintained.

This role demands a keen awareness of current dangers, enemy techniques, and the ability to understand complex scenarios quickly. Your strategic input will be invaluable as you help shape our company's IT security strategy, leveraging your exceptional communication skills to collaborate effectively across all levels - from staff to executives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of resources responsible for responding to security events 24x7x365.
  • Plan and execute regular incident response and postmortem exercises, with a focus on creating measurable benchmarks to show progress (or deficiencies requiring additional attention).
  • Automate repetitive tasks and drive efficiencies so analysts can work on more advanced tasks.
  • Manage security event investigations, draft and maintain After Action Reports (AARs), partner with other departments as needed.
  • Evaluate and update SOC policies and procedures as appropriate.
  • Develop metrics and scorecards to measure risk to the organization and SOC effectiveness.
  • Partner with cybersecurity architecture & engineering to mature monitoring and response capabilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information assurance, MIS or related field, or equivalent is required.
  • At least 5+ years of information security monitoring and response or related experience.
  • CISSP, CISM, and/or SANS certification a plus.
  • Experience managing a 24x7 operational environment.
  • Experience driving measurable improvement in monitoring and response capabilities at scale.
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements
  • Hybrid with on-site presence at our Davidson, NC headquarters is preferred
  • Travel up to 15% if Remote
