Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership, guidance and direction for Plant Operations.
  • Direct and manage plant operations for Safety/Environmental, production, (fabrication, industrial painting, and assembly) maintenance, quality, and shipping/receiving.
  • Coordinate plant activities through planning to ensure that manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner.
  • Develop budget and manage costs
  • Provide feedback to enhance custom and standard product designs to decrease costs, reduce waste and improve predictability.
  • Coordinate with Production, Engineering and Sales departments to meet established production timelines. Lead weekly Production meetings.
  • Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
  • Help to solve inventory issues/delays
  • Implement cost effective systems of control over operating expenses and ensure labor efficiency within the plant.
  • Support plant employee safety program to maintain safe working conditions.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the facility and grounds.
  • Maintain facility records.
  • Develop a positive climate that fosters trust, recognition, communication and employee involvement.
  • Work with Human Resources in recruitment/selection of plant employees and other employee related issues.
  • Ensure policy compliance within areas of responsibility.
  • Review compensation actions; and enforce policies and procedures
  • Provides direction, development and leadership to Department Leads.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

A. Education & Training
  • A Bachelor's degree in area of specialty (engineering field related to the industry or business admin.; or 7 to 10 years experience in Plant Operations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of budgets and cost control methods.
  • Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures required.

Technical Requirements

  • Practical manufacturing/production and engineering management experience
  • Must be mechanically inclined
  • Detailed and process oriented with strong problem resolution abilities
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in written form
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with opposing opinions and capable of leading a team toward the best outcome
  • Self-motivated and goal oriented
  • Ability to effectively manage people to achieve desired results
  • Strong customer and quality focus
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office business applications, ERP, (Exp. with Fishbowl or Oracle is an asset).
  • Strong management, leadership, team building and employee relations skills.
  • Occasional travel required as necessary

C. Physical Requirements

Subject to prolonged periods of sitting, typing or working primarily with fingers, holds and grips objects; subject to repetitive motion of the wrists, hands and/or fingers. Exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Working Conditions:

This position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

$90-110K Salary Range
