Responsibilities

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Product Owner to support our Huntsville, AL location.

We specialize in Digital Transformation, Cloud Services, DevSecOps, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Business Intelligence (BI), Data Science, and Machine Learning (ML) related initiatives, both in the federal and commercial space. We are currently seeking a mid/senior-level Product Owner to support our Huntsville location.

Our team is seeking an exceptionally motivated self-starting Product Owner with experience in digital ecosystems and digital transformation. This role requires a dynamic leader who can collaborate cross-functionally, combining expertise in product management, technology, and user experience to create and maintain a powerful digital ecosystem. Your mission will be to ensure that our digital transformations align perfectly with business goals and deliver outstanding value to customers.

Duties:

    Vision and Strategy Development - Define and articulate the vision for digital transformation projects, ensuring alignment with the customers strategic goals and market demands.
  • User Story Development - Break down the product vision into detailed user stories with clear acceptance criteria. Collaborate with the development team to ensure a shared understanding of requirements.
  • Backlog Management - Prioritize and manage the product backlog, balancing the needs of stakeholders and the potential impact on the customer experience.
  • Roadmap Planning - Develop and maintain a clear, actionable product roadmap that communicates priorities and timelines to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Team Leadership - Act as a leader within a cross-functional team, providing direction and support to developers to ensure a collaborative and effective work environment.
  • Stakeholder Engagement - Regularly engage with stakeholders across the organization to gather requirements, provide updates, and ensure that the project outcomes meet business needs.
  • Metrics and Analysis - Define success metrics and criteria for product performance. Use data to drive decisions and improve product features continuously. Collect and analyze feedback from customers and stakeholders to iteratively improve the product. Use data and metrics to inform decisions and measure the success of product features.
  • User Experience and Customer Focus - Ensure the product delivers a superior user experience and meets the high standards expected by our customers.
  • Release Planning - Participate in release planning and coordination, determining what features will be included in each release. Manage dependencies and risks related to product development.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team. Reflect on the effectiveness of Agile processes and adjust as needed.
  • Focus on delivering value to customers and the business in each iteration. Optimize the product to maximize its impact on the organization's goals.
Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:

  • At least 8 years of experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role within a technology-focused environment.
  • Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum and Kanban.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior management and other key stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one's sleeves to get the job done.
  • Skilled at working effectively with cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.
  • Located in the Huntsville, AL area or willing to relocate.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • Travel: 20%
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with digital transformation projects particularly in DoD.
  • Certification in Product Ownership (e.g., CSPO) or Agile methodologies.
  • Technical background, with experience overseeing projects in cloud platforms.
