Abacus Technology is seeking a Unified Communications Lead to provide unified communications support for the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Information Directorate. This is a full-time position.
As a working Unified Communications Lead for Tier 3 Unified Communications management, oversee the day-to-day health of the enterprise and customer VoIP infrastructure, with a focus on assuring stability, capacity and organizational productivity. The network is a converged IP network carrying data, voice and video. Address and resolve complex technical problems relating to the installation, upgrade, and daily operation of local and regionally distributed VoIP network infrastructure. Maintain the existing Cisco VoIP environment consisting of Skype for business and Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unity Connection (CUC) and various model Cisco and Polycom phones. Interface with customers, vendors, and other technical staff to analyze business and technical requirements as well as customer network and systems infrastructure. Work closely with the network engineering Director to establish and deliver consistent technical direction, collect and analyze VoIP performance metrics, establish and enforce service level agreements. Document engineering standards and proposals, leads or assists in the development of VoIP architecture/engineering designs, changes, and configuration management. Assist in evaluating current and emerging network and VoIP technologies, conducts technical assessments, and makes recommendations to Information Technology director and customers.
5+ years' experience in communications and network engineering. Must be Security+ CE and CCNP Collaboration certified. Experience with Cisco Unified Communications systems. System hardening experience with DISA STIG compliancy. Able to architect, design, implement, and manage large complex data/voice and video network systems. Thorough understanding of network supporting software/hardware. LAN/WAN, and data communications technologies. Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, collaborative environment, with strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, strong critical thinking, complex problem solving, appropriate judgment, and decision-making skills. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills in addition to the ability to effectively manage and prioritize individual projects and tasks. Possess superior written and oral communication skills. Effective written and verbal communications skills. Able to provide technical guidance to management team and end users. Must have excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work independently, completing multiple and often competing tasks. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
