Abacus Technology is seeking a Server Operations Lead to provide tier 3 server management for the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Information Directorate. This is a full-time position.
As a working Server Operations Lead for Tier 3 server management, maintain operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with storage and network engineers. Set up administrator and management service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space. Employ operating system upgrades, patches, and configuration changes. Add, remove, or update user account information and interact with users and evaluate vendor products. Document the configuration of the system and troubleshoot and report anomalies. Make recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinate installation, and provide backup recovery. Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Ensure network infrastructure is running.
5+ years' experience in systems administration. Must be Security+ CE and VMWare certified. Must have experience with VMWare and either Windows or Linux/UNIX virtual machines. Understanding of system administration standards and industry principles, theories, and concepts. System hardening experience with DISA STIG compliancy. Demonstrated knowledge of enterprise infrastructure including dual-stack (IPv4 and IPv6) architecture, network assurance, security, and automation. Demonstrated ability to implement, manage, and troubleshoot a vSphere infrastructure with the ability to provide solutions to a variety of system problems. Develop and manage complex solutions and act as a technical resource to the Abacus and government management teams. Solid communication skills are critical. Must be a US citizen and hold an active Secret clearance.
